Stress Management for Chronic Noncancer Pain
Stress Management for Chronic Noncancer Pain is a ten-week program that runs one day per week providing the primary skills needed to manage stress. This program teaches participants the fundamental skills necessary to deal with the harmful aspects of stress.
These skills include basic relaxation strategies, pacing in order to increase function, and the basics of goal attainment scaling. This program provides treatment for those patients who are unable to attend a multidisciplinary pain program because of work commitments and those patients who do not require the intensity of a full pain program.
This program can also help those patients who do not have pain, but who are feeling overwhelmed by stress.
